Partnership focuses on helping CPG and pharma manufacturers apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques to better manage supply and demand variability
ATLANTA (September 13, 2006) – Invistics, a developer of manufacturing performance
optimization solutions, announced today that it has joined forces with Clarkston Consulting, a
management and technology consulting firm, to help manufacturers in asset-intensive industries streamline their manufacturing and supply chain operations to improve performance and profitability.
The new partnership targets consumer packaged goods (CPG) and pharmaceutical manufacturers who want to optimize manufacturing performance by instituting process changes that effectively address the unique complexities present in their industries, such as high supply and demand variability.
“CPG and pharmaceutical manufacturers have complex supply chains and processes that do not easily lend themselves to operational efficiency improvement using traditional Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques,” said Scott Geller, president and CEO of Invistics.
“We developed the MachSix™ technology and methodology to address the unique problems these companies face when trying to optimize their supply chain. MachSix is designed to reinforce behaviors that improve operational performance, while the Clarkston consultants advise our joint customers on industry best practices, provide integration services, and conduct training to ensure the new processes are in place and being followed.”
Invistics provides MachSix, a proven methodology and manufacturing software solution that
incorporates Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques. MachSix exposes opportunities to improve operational performance by reducing inventory and cycle times, and by improving service levels and manufacturing throughput for manufacturers operating in complex, asset-intensive industries.
Clarkston Consulting has expertise in ERP and supply chain systems and can map them to
MachSix to provide new levels of visibility and control for plant floor operations. The firm also plays a key role in facilitating corporate change management as companies adapt to new processes.
According to Monty Hamilton, regional managing partner for Clarkston Consulting, “We’ve seen the ways in which the MachSix solution can extend ERP and supply chain systems to improve operations in complex-process manufacturing industries.”
By working together, Invistics and Clarkston Consulting can complete the MachSix implementation and necessary process changes and training more quickly, resulting in faster performance improvements for their joint clients.
